The first four weeks of a baby’s life are considered the neonatal period. Many complex physiological changes occur during this period and the child is exposed to various stimuli. Care during this period should be continuous and effective. Neonatal care includes assessing the need for resuscitation, a complete physical examination, administration of prophylactic drugs and vaccines, adequate feeding, safe sleep, neonatal hygiene, and other important areas for the baby’s well-being. Dr. Ray manages both term and premature newborns post-hospital discharge. Periodic reviews and consultations are undertaken to track the progress of such newborns.
